‘This plant is abundant on the esplanade of my hometown. When I think of home, the flat water on the bay and the calm ocean, I also think of these trees. It has a strong connection to my childhood.
When I think of this tree, I see it as a conduit to the water, its needles drawing points to the ocean surface, drawing in its memories. Needles constantly moving in the wind, capturing the wind like an open net.’
